Varsity/JV Boys Basketball vs. Vermilion/St. Mary's


The boys varsity basketball split in action over this past weekend. The boys lost at Vermilion Friday, and were paced by James Hill, Bryce Roberts, and Brandon Romell. The boys beat St. Mary's Saturday night and were led in scoring by Bryce Roberts who scored 16 points, James Hill who scored 13 points, Larry Kessler who scored 9 points, and Brandon Tice whose scored 8 points. The boys return to action this Thursday night at home against Tiffin Calvert.


The JV Boys Basketball team split a pair of games over the weekend.  Friday night they traveled to Vermilion to take on a tough JV basketball team and in light of a tremendous second half effort came up short 45-31. On Saturday night they were on the road again at St. Mary's and rebounded after a loss very well and won 50-31.  Caleb Bissell lead all scores with 14 points while Drew Sneider added 12.  JV record sits at 3-3 as they look to take on the Tiffin Calvert Senecas at home on Thursday.



Freshman Boys Basketball - Vermilion/St. Mary's


The freshman boys’ basketball team lost their first game of the season Friday night to Vermilion by a score of 48-30.  Edison played well in the first half and was leading by 2 points at the intermission but could not hold off the Sailors charge in the 2nd half.  Lincoln Meredith led the Chargers in scoring with 10 points and Patrick McManus chipped in with 7.


Saturday night the freshman improved their record to (5-1) with a great team effort by defeating St Mary’s Central Catholic 38-18. The Chargers held the Panthers scoreless in the 4th quarter to secure the victory.  Conrad Kluding led all scorers with 12 points while Grant Ott scored 10 tallies and Dylan O’Dell contributed with 6.  The freshman boy’s next game is Saturday at St Paul.


Varsity Wrestling - Archbold Duals


The Charger Wrestling Team went 7-3 over the weekend at the Archbold Duals.  Finishing the weekend 10-0 were Casey Barnett, Dylan Burns, and Sam Stoll.  Dylan Burns was voted Tournament Most Valuable Wrestler.  The Chargers will be back in action this Saturday at 10:00 am at home against Division I opponent Findlay.   Please come support the team.


Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Tiffin Calvert


The varsity girls basketball team used a stifling defense on Saturday to defeat Tiffin Calvert 40 to 18. Ashley Sneider paced the attack with 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Hannah Vitaz added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Molly Houser contributed 6 points and Mariah Medina grabbed 6 steals.


The junior varsity girls basketball team defeated Tiffin Calvert on Saturday 39 to 32. Deana Blatnik led the attack with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Emma Houser contributed 9 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Katelyn Chenevey hauled down 8 rebounds and Lilli Schuster added 5 steals. 


The freshmen girls basketball team returns to action tomorrow hosting Norwalk at 5:30. The Lady Charger varsity and jv basketball teams return to action on Friday hosting Huron. Hope to see you courtside.
