High School Sports

Varsity/JV/9th Volleyball vs. Norwalk


The varsity volleyball team lost to a tough Norwalk team by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.  Jordyn Mitnik and Macy Stower led the defense with 11 digs and Grace Houser added 9 digs.  Jessica Stoll slammed 8 kills, Hannah Vitaz had 4 kills, and Alana Fidler chipped in 3 kills.  Melissa Kuhl and Vitaz each had 5 blocks, and Kami Neuberger dished out 19 assists.


The JV volleyball team beat Norwalk 25-20 and 25-16.  Maddi Proy led the team with 11 points and Halina Krul had 8 points


The freshmen volleyball team also be the Truckers by scores of 25-22 and 25-18.  Natalie Costello led the team in serving.

All senior, junior, and sophomore class officers need to stop in to see Mrs. Griffin today.


Varsity Girls Soccer vs. Mansfield St. Peter


The Edison Girls Varsity Soccer team opened up their season with an impressive 5 to 1 win over a talented Mansfield St. Peter team. The Chargers where lead by 3 goals scored by Piper Nickoli and one goal each by Holy Racioppi and Savanna Smith. All goals came off great team play with assist on goals from Katelyn Chenevey, Katie Nealey, Racioppi, and Smith. The Chargers also had solid defensive play from Natalie White, Josie Soviak, and Elizabeth Pruitt only allowing 1 goal to be scored. The Lady Chargers will return to play on 8/28/17 with a home game against Huron.


Boys Cross Country - Regionals


The boy’s team was again led by freshmen Tyler Coon and Daniel Lambert. Both Tyler and Daniel qualified for Saturday’s Ohio State Cross Country Championship by placing in the top 16. Tyler led the way with a 14th place finish and Daniel right behind in 15th. Other scorers for the Chargers were Gavin Schaeffer, Jon Hrivnak and Dylan Burns. Ashley, Tyler and Daniel will compete this Saturday at the National Trail Raceway in Hebron. The boys will compete at 11:45 am and Ashley at 2:15.


Varsity Volleyball vs. Norwalk


The varsity volleyball team played well but lost their first match of the season to Norwalk 14-25, 25-22, 11-25, 16-25.  Kennedy Ames led the team with 9 kills.  Shannon Ott was 64-64 setting with 16 assists and also led the team with 16 digs.  Jordyn Mitnik led the servers with 12 points and also had 14 digs.
