Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. New London

The varsity girls basketball team played stifling defense last night recording 19 steals in securing a 56 to 24 road victory over the New London Wildcats. Alana Fidler, Molly Houser, and Mariah Medina swiped 5 steals each and Hannah Vitaz played exceptional post defense. Molly Houser paced the scoring attack with 14 points, while Mariah Medina tallied 13 points, and Alana Fidler added 11 points. 

 

The junior varsity girls basketball team earned their first victory of the year defeating New London 33 to 31. Jayla Medina paced the attack with 10 points and 4 steals, while Lilli Schuster contributed 8 points and 5 steals. Katelyn Chenevey led the assault on the boards with 5.

 

The Lady Charger basketball teams are back in action Thursday night in the Thunderdome when they host St. Mary's. Hope to see you courtside.

 

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Monroeville

The Lady Charger basketball team defeated Monroeville in the season opener last Friday night 49 to 39. Mariah Medina paced the balanced attack with 10 points; Alana Fidler 9 points; Aliyah Caporini 8 points; and Catie Houser, Molly Houser, and Hannah Vitaz with 6 points each. Vitaz also hauled down 7 rebounds and Caporini grabbed 8 steals.

 

The junior varsity lost to Monroeville in double overtime 48 to 46. Lilli Schuster paced the attack with 15 points, while Sydney Schuster tallied 7 points and Emma Houser added 6 points.

 

The Lady Chargers are back in action tonight when they travel to New London. Hope to see you courtside!

 

Boys Cross Country - State

In the boys race Daniel Lambert placed 41st among 180 of the best Division 2 runners in the state.  This was an improvement of 37 places over last years 78th place. Way to go Daniel.

 

Girls Cross Country - State

Congratulations on the Lady Chargers 15th place finish at the OHSAA Cross Country Championships this past weekend in Hebron. Pacing the Chargers was freshman Abbie Lesniak with a 27th place finish and lowering her freshman record by four seconds to 19 minutes and 16 seconds. Following Abby across the finish line with excellent performances were seniors Carlie Shover and Ashley Sneider. Rounding out the scoring for the team were Isabel Chasney and Grace Kromer who both ran season best times.
