Varsity/JV Boys Basketball vs. Port Clinton/South Central

The boys’ varsity basketball team went 2 and 0 on the weekend with a win at home over Port Clinton and a win at South Central. Bryce Ostheimer led all scorers over the weekend with a combined 34 points, James Hill added 22 points, Bryce Roberts added 21 points, and Nick Frederick added 18 points on 6 three-pointers.

 

The JV Boys Basketball had a successful weekend defeating Port Clinton on Friday at home 47-40 and defeating South Central on Saturday 43-31.  Friday Daniel Lambert and Jacobee Kessler paced the Chargers with 12 and 11 points while Carson Ehrhardt chipped in 9.  Saturday against SC Brandon Tice tallied 15 points while Carson Ehrhardt had 10.

 

Tomorrow the Chargers face the Polar Bears at home to start a 3 game week.

 

Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. St. Paul

The varsity girls’ basketball team gave a complete team effort last night in defeating the state ranked St. Paul Flyers 62 to 51.  Kelsey Schuster paced the attack with 23 points, while Jessica Stoll contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds. Madison Moyer had a double double with 10 rebounds and tied a school record with 10 assists. Jillian Danda tossed in 9 points and dished out 4 assists; Alana Fidler 6 points and 5 rebounds; Hannah Vitaz tallied 5 points and 8 rebounds and Carlie Shover added 4 points.

 

The junior varsity lost to St. Paul. Sabrina Downey led the way with 10 points, while Emma Houser added 8 points and Carlie Shover and Brooke Yates each scored 7 points. The Lady Charger basketball teams are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Perkins. Hope to see you court side.

 

Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Firelands

The Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated Firelands Saturday 50-42. The boys were paced by Bryce Roberts and James Hill, who each contributed 14 points. Bryce Ostheimer added 11 points and Nick Frederick added two threes for 6 points. Coach Hammond and the boys would like to thank all those who helped us raise awareness and support for Coach Todd Robinson by wearing black to the game and making it a great night to be a Charger!

 

JV Boys Basketball vs. Firelands

Saturday Night the Chargers hosted the Firelands Falcons on Melanoma Awareness Night.  After a hard fought come back by the Falcons, the Chargers were able to maintain their composure for a 67-55 win.  The JV Boys were able to connect from the foul line 14 of 17 attempts in the 4th quarter alone.  Caleb Bissell was 7 or 8 to keep the game out of reach.  5 players were able to reach double figures.  Carson Ehrhardt and Brandon Romell scored 12 points each, Brandon Tice and Caleb Bissell scored 11 points each and Jacobee Kessler chipped in 10.  The Chargers host the PC Redskins on Friday.
