Varsity/Freshman basketball vs. Margaretta


The boys’ varsity basketball team lost a tough game in OT v. Margaretta last night. The boys were led in scoring by James Hill who scored 18 points, Bryce Ostheimer who scored 9 points, and Braden Ehrhardt who chipped in 6 points. The boys will look to bounce back this Friday night at Perkins.


The freshman boys’ basketball team won their second game in a row last night by downing the Polar Bears by a score of 37-36.  Connor Romell led all scorers with 19 points and by making 5 three-point field goals while Drew Sneider tossed in 10 points to propel the Chargers over Margaretta.  The boys will play their last freshman game Friday night at Perkins, tipoff is at 4:30.


Freshman Boys Basketball vs. Port Clinton


On Friday night the freshman boys’ basketball team battled Port Clinton and came out on top posting their 3rd win of the season by a score of 28-26.  Connor Romell and Drew Snieder led Edison with 7 points each while Seth Thompson contributed with 6 points and Seth Kromer pitched in with 5.  The boys’ next game is tonight at home against Margaretta.


Varsity Wrestling - Division III State Dual Champions


Congratulations to the Charger Wrestling Team for winning the Division III State Dual Championship this past weekend in Columbus.  The Chargers defeated Swanton 42-22 in the quarterfinals.  In the semifinals the Chargers had a dramatic 32-31 win over #1 ranked Mechanisburg.  Sam Stoll sealed the win with a 16-4 victory at 220 pounds.  In the finals the Chargers once again executed a perfect game plan and came away with a 29-25 victory over previously undefeated Massillon Tuslaw.  Congratulations to the entire team for an awesome weekend!!


Varsity/JV Girls Basketball vs. Perkins


The varsity girls’ basketball team lost to Perkins on Saturday. Hannah Vitaz paced the attack with 16 points and 6 rebounds while Madison Moyer added 8 points and 9 rebounds. Jessica Stoll also scored 8 points and Jillian Danda dished out 5 assists.The junior varsity girls lost to Perkins. Emma Houser tossed in 12 points while Sabrina Downey and Carlie Shover each scored 9 points. Sydney Schuster hauled down 6 rebounds.

The Lady Charger basketball teams conclude the regular season when they host Oak Harbor on Thursday. Hope to see you court side.
