     The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Heather Lambert is the March Student of the Month at Edison High School.

     Heather has been chosen for her contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Heather’s school activities:  Speech & Debate (Historian, Vice-President); Class Treasurer; National Honor Society; French Honor Society; French Club; math club; creative writing club (editor); volleyball; marching band (section / squad leader); concert band (1st chair); pep band (section leader); stage band (soloist); show choir (soloist, choreographer); band council (Co-President); drama club (outstanding performer).  Heather’s community involvement:  youth group; vacation bible school teacher’s assistant; National Lutheran Youth Organization’s mission trip participant; and currently works at Aeropostle as a sales associate.  Heather has received various awards including: Solo & Ensemble Contest (superior rankings); Ohio Counsel of Teachers of Mathematics test (placed 4th on the Edison team and 6th overall); Buckeye Girls’ State (elected to state level position on the Court of Appeals); academic letter and Student of the Quarter at EHS.

     Heather plans to attend Ohio University majoring in social work.  She will be a part of the Honor Tutorial College and hopes to be involved in musical groups, other activities on campus and to study abroad.  Heather is the daughter of Allen & Beth Lambert of Berlin Heights.

 

February Student of the Month - Madison Moyer

BERLIN HEIGHTS KIWANIS STUDENT OF THE MONTH 

     The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Madison Moyer is the February Student of the Month at Edison High School.

     Madison has been chosen for her contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Madison’s school activities:  National Honor Society; French Honor Society; French Club; Math Club; Key Club; Big Brothers/Big Sisters; morning announcement crew; Student Council (President); Student Athlete Leadership Team; cross country (4 year varsity letter recipient, team captain, Most-Dedicated Player, 2nd Team All SBC, 1st Team All SBC and All District); basketball (3 year varsity letter recipient, SBC Honorable Mention, team captain, Academic Silver recipient, best free throw percentage); track (three year varsity letter recipient, Most-Improved player, All-Ohio 7th place and state placement in 4x8); Milan Melon Festival Court (2nd Attendant) and peer tutor.  Madison enjoys volunteering Wednesday mornings to assist the elementary students with their reading skills. 

     Madison plans on attending Bowling Green State University majoring in communication disorders.  She would like to pursue a career in speech pathology.  Madison is the daughter of Mike and Tracey Moyer of Milan.

 

January Student of the Month - Ian Churchill

     The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Ian Churchill is the January Student of the Month at Edison High School.

     Ian has been chosen for his contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Ian’s school activities:    National Honor Society (Secretary); Interact Club (Treasurer, Journalist); Spanish Honor Society; Math Club;  Art Club (President); Student of the Quarter; EHS morning announcement crew member; teacher’s assistant; track ; cross country (varsity letter, Most-Improved Award); Buckeye Boys State participant; State Science Fair participant; Five County Art Show (1st place award received twice); Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout, Junior Assistant Scout Master, Senior Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader); Sea Scouts (Boatswain’s Mate); First Robotics Team; National Youth Leadership Training participant and is active in his church.

     Ian has received his Congressional Nomination to the United States Naval Academy and is currently waiting on his appointment.  He plans to study Mechanical Engineering.  Ian has also been accepted into the Honors Program at The University of Akron.  Ian is the son of Randy and Melanie Churchill of Norwalk, Ohio.

 

December Student of the Month - Michael Snider

BERLIN HEIGHTS KIWANIS STUDENT OF THE MONTH 

     The Berlin Heights Kiwanis are pleased to announce Michael Snider is the December Student of the Month at Edison High School.

     Michael has been chosen for his contributions to Edison High School and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.  Michael’s school activities:    Interact Club (President, Vice-President and Treasurer); French Club (Vice-President); French Honor Society (President); band; Solo & Ensemble (12 medals for first or second place performances); Student of the Quarter (5 quarters); Eagle Scout and a member in The Order of the Arrow.  Michael currently works for Edison Solar and The Edison Alumni as a professional web designer.  He also repairs iDevices and computers for the school and fellow classmates during the year.  Michael is currently third in his class.   

     Michael is in the process of narrowing down which college he will attend in the fall but is planning to major in MIS.  This specific major will harness his technical skills alongside business etiquette to implement computer systems to help businesses achieve their goals.  Throughout college, Michael will continue professionally designing websites for local organizations.  Michael is the son of Trent and Elizabeth Snider of Berlin Heights, Ohio.
