Morning Announcements - Monday, May 14, 2018


Tonight at 7:00, senior recognition will take place in the auditorium.


Congratulations to the boys track team as they were crowned SBC champions Friday night!  The team scored in every event making it a great team effort.  Congratulations on the 1st track SBC championship since 2001!  Good luck at districts this week!


The girls track team competed in the SBC championships over the weekend finishing 3rd as a team scoring 101.5 points. Finishing as SBC champs were: 4x800 relay team of Shover, Schaefer, Chasney, Lesniak. Lesniak also won the mile and 2 mile. Jayla Medina won the Long Jump.  The girls run again Wednesday in the district meet. Good luck Ladies.


The varsity baseball team won their 10th straight sectional title by beating Huron 11-3 on Friday.  Bryce Roberts and Cody Scott each had 3 hits and 2 RBI's.  Caden Cooper had 2 hits, including a triple, and 2 RBI's, and Jadon Hanson added 2 hits. Roberts pitched 6 innings with 4 strikeouts to pick up the win on the mound.  Cooper struck out the side in the 7th to close out the game.

Edison High School's annual sports physical night is Tuesday, May 22nd from 5pm - 7pm.  Any high school or middle school student needing a sports physical can pick up a packet in the school offices. Cost is $15.  Please email rmiller@edisonchargers.orgor call 419-499-4652 ext 1022 to schedule a time.


Summer school information is now available.  See Mrs. Brown if you would like more information on this option for credit recovery.  


Petitions are now available in the high school office for students wishing to run for a class office position or student council.


Are you in need of community service hours next year?  Caddy for cancer patients is looking for girls and guys to caddy on Monday June 25th at 10:30.  Golf carts are available for you to ride on - so kick that excuse out the door...but you may be asked to help sight a ball or retrieve a ball.  You and a friend can caddy as a team! You will recieve 8 community service hours for this! There is more information on the counter in the library.  


There will be a brief Spanish Honor Society Meeting after school tomorrow, May 15th in Room 302. All members and new inductees must attend this meeting. If you can not make the meeting please see Profesora Cunningham today.


Attention all current juniors.  Prestige Portraits will be here on Monday, May 21 at 2:30 pm to share exciting information about your upcoming senior portraits.  During this time, they will be giving away a lot of fun stuff, including free senior T-shirts and Kalahari Waterpark Day passes.  Class of 2019 be sure to join the fun on Monday, May 21 at 2:30 as we kickoff your senior year.


Attention Drama Club Members, the Drama Club awards Dessert will be Tuesday, May 15 at 6:30. All students in grades nine through 11 are asked to bring a dessert dish to share.  Students must be present to receive their awards.  Students with an unavoidable conflict must contact Mr. Stanforth in writing in advance. Family and friends are invited to attend this special night too!


Attention Students: Anyone interested in running for a class office position or student council may pick up an information sheet from the high school office.  Candidates for office must meet the criteria listed on the information sheet.  Student speeches and elections will be held on Thursday, May 17th.


Remember to order a 2018 yearbook.  You can order online at www.jostensyearbooks.com Follow online prompts to place order.  Mrs. Dow also has extra order forms in her classroom.


Attention staff and student body members: The Key Club in conjunction with the Berlin Heights Kiwanis is conducting a shoe drive to benefit young entrepreneurs in 3rd world countries. If you have gently worn shoes, sandals, flip flops, boots or sneakers that you no longer use, please bring them to the Main Office this week and put them in the SHOE DRIVE box.


The Berlin Hts. Basket Festival is held the first Friday and Saturday in August.  Any girls interested in running for the Basket Queen should sign up in the library.  You must be entering your junior or senior year and live in Berlin Heights or Berlin township.  Madison ostheimer will be having a meeting on Wednesday May 16th at 3:00 in the library for more information and to answer any questions you may have.


Anyone who is planning on trying out for volleyball teams this fall should sign up in Coach Hoover's room this week.
