The Firelands Challenge team members are excused at 7:50 to attend Championship Round 2 at Huron High School with St. Paul High School.  Good luck to the team!

 

The varsity girls basketball team lost to Willard on Saturday. Aliyah Caporini and Alana Fidler scored 11 points each, while Ashley Sneider and Hannah Vitaz added 6 points each. Vitaz hauled down 7 rebounds and Fidler and Sneider grabbed 6 boards apiece along with 4 steals from Caporini.

 

The junior varsity girls lost to Willard on Saturday. Deana Blatnik and Lilli Schuster paced the attack with 8 points each, while Jayla Medina tossed in 7 points. Sydney Schuster and Blatnik both grabbed 7 rebounds, while Schuster dished out 4 assists.

 

The Lady Charger basketball teams play their final game of the regular season at Oak Harbor on Thursday. Tip-off for the junior varsity game is at 5:30. Hope to see you courtside.

 

The boys varsity basketball team improved to 13 and 6 over the weekend with two home wins over Port Clinton and South Central. James Hill had a combined 40 points over the weekend, Bryce Roberts combined for 34 points, Gavin Schaeffer had 20 points, and Carson Ehrhardt had 16 points over the weekend. The Chargers return to action this weekend at Willard and home saturday for Senior night against Western Reserve.

 

The freshman boys’ basketball team improved their overall record to 11-6 and their conference record to 6-4 with an impressive 45-26 victory over Port Clinton.  Luke Bissell lead the Chargers by sinking four 3-point field goals in the first quarter and finishing the game topping all scorers with a season high 17 points.  Patrick McManus tossed in 11 points while Dylan O’Dell contributed with 7 tallies.  The boys next game is Friday at Willard.

 

Reminder to Seniors - Senior photos are due to the yearbook staff by this Thursday, February 15.  Please submit a jpeg photo to Mrs. Dow via school email by that date or tell your photographer to do so.  See Mrs. Dow if you have questions.  

 

The National Honors Society will be hosting a community-wide book drive until Saturday, February 17th during Edison Appreciation Week. You can donate any gently used or new books from any age group and reading level. Books will be donated to the Early Readers Program at the elementary, the Milan Salvation Army and the local libraries. Please help us show how much we appreciate Edison Schools and community. Collection boxes are located in the library and around town.

FYI: Edison High School has a wide open gym just waiting for you!!! Every morning at 7:30 a.m. through the remainder of the school year, the gym will be open for walking. Teen Leadership Corps. is a service learning class that focuses on building leadership characteristics while serving others.  Any sophomore or junior who is interested in leading, serving, and inspiring the world next year needs to pick up an application from Mrs. Seel and attend the interview night at 5pm Monday February 12th.  See Mrs. Seel or a current (blue-jacket-wearing) member if you have any questions!  

 

A reminder to Interact members attending the Chamber of Commerce dinner tonight. Please be on time - and dress nice!   

 

Order forms and money for Spanish Club clothing are due Wednesday, February 14th. Give your order form and money to either Profesora or Profe.

 

On Tuesday, February 13, plan on dinner at Chipotle!  Between 4-8:00, TLC will get 50% of the proceeds!  Help TLC, help others, eat in or take out at Chipotle Tuesday night!
