Morning Announcements - Monday, December 4, 2017


The varsity girls basketball lost to Margaretta on Saturday. Alana Fidler paced the attack with 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Aliyah Caporini added 9 points and Hannah Vitaz hauled down 9 rebounds. 

The junior varsity girls basketball team lost to Margaretta on Saturday. Deana Blatnik scored 8 points, while Jayla Medina and Piper Nickoli added 6 and 5 points respectively. Kaitlin Nealey gathered 8 boards and Katelyn Chenevey notched 7 caroms. 

The freshmen girls basketball team plays Monroeville tonight in the Thunderdome at 5:30. Hope to see you courtside.


Reminder for those track athletes signed up for winter conditioning.  We will begin today.  Meet in the fieldhouse after school. You can change in the locker rooms at the fieldhouse.  Please be there by 3:05. We would like to get started as soon as possible.  Any questions, see Coach Shelley.


Senior members of National Honor Society - Our next meeting is Tuesday, December 5th after school in Miss Cull's room.  If you can not attend you must see Miss Cull before the meeting.  


Ohgo is an organization dedicated to helping those in need.  Stop outside the library and see the One Kind Act project.  Take a card, do the action, and replace it with a signed smiley face for your chance to win a gift card to rapid fire pizza!


Congratulations to the Edison Speech & Debate team which placed 5th at the Perrysburg tournament on Saturday.  Individual winners for Edison include:Chris Schaeffer and Lexi Weyer - 1st place in Policy Debate with an undefeated record and their 2nd bid to the State Tournament. Jamie Anderson and Nathan Spence - 2nd place in Policy Debate and the only other undefeated record in the tournament. Trevon Lassen- 4th place in Informative Speaking. Finishing in 5th place: Michael Roth - 5th place in Congressional Debate. Madeline Stiles and Brendan Scott - 5th place in Public Forum Debate. Mallory Stiles and Anna James - 5th place in Policy Debate. And 7th place finishers: Will Duniver - 7th place in Congressional Debate. Sean Rhodes and Gus Tillinghast - 7th place in Policy Debate. There is no rehearsal on Monday or Tuesday.  There will be an Open rehearsal on Wednesday instead of policy and public forum debate.


The boys’ freshman basketball team opened their season Friday night with a 41-7 win over New London.  Grant Ott and Jalen Kegarise lead the team in scoring with 6 points apiece while Lincoln Meredith pitched in with 5 points.  Dylan O’Dell, Conrad Kluding and Ethan Gessling each contributed with 4 tallies. Saturday night the freshman team overcame a 15-point deficit starting the final stanza to tie game up in regulation and outscored the Pirates in overtime for a 31-29 victory.  Dylan O’Dell led the Chargers in scoring with 8 points while Grant Ott made a pair of clutch free throws in overtime to end up with 7 points. Lincoln Meredith, Aiden Yoder and Conrad Kluding pitched in with 5 points each.  The boys next game is Tuesday at Firelands.


The Varsity boys’ basketball team will be playing Clyde at Quicken Loans Arena at 2:30pm Monday, January 15th.  There is no admission cost for the high school game.  As part of this event Edison High School is selling tickets to the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors game at 8pm that evening.  Tickets are $103 each. If interested in tickets, contact Mr. Jeffrey or Coach Hammond.


Attention Drama Club members, Mr. Stanforth will need an assistant director for Check Please.  Interested students should sign up for an interview Tuesday during the lunch modules.
