Happy Birthday today to Emily Vogus!

 

At 4:15 today, Boys’ Tennis will be at Huron. At 4:45, JV Baseball & JV Softball will be at home with Oak Harbor and varsity baseball and varsity softball will travel to Oak Harbor for their game. 

 

Attention all seniors: pictures are due!  Group pictures, senior and baby pictures should be turned into Mr. Neher by April 28th!

 

The tennis team lost to Port Clinton on Tuesday 3-2. Winning at singles was James Hill and at doubles the team of Connor Goodwin/Nathan Zettler. Winning for the JV team was the doubles team of Kaleb Yoder/Adam Frederick. The team travels to Huron tonight.

 

The boys track team lost to Bellevue and Sandusky last night. 1st place finishers for the Chargers were:  Bryce in the 110 and the 300 hurdles. Bryce's time in the 300 hurdles was a personal best of 38.7. Unofficially breaking the school record. Also finishing 1st, Ty Coon in the 800, Joe Eskra in the pole vault, Logan Collins in the discus and the 4x800 relay of Jacob Grant, Ian Churchill, Drew Sneider and Keegan Grames. Way to go guys!

 

In last night's tri meet against Bellevue and Sandusky the girls team finished in third place with 42 points. Winning their event on the night was Madison Moyer in the 400, Grace Kromer in the 3200, and Lillie Klepper in the Pole Vault. The girls run again this Saturday at the Huron Invite.

 

Attention Book Club Members:  The yearbook photo for Book Club will be taken this morning immediately after morning announcements in the auditorium.  The photo will only take 1 minute so be prompt.

 

Attention Spanish Club members: clothing order forms are now available either from Profesora, Profe or the library.  Orders must be turned in with payment no later than April 26th

 

Tickets for Prom 2017, A Whole New World, will be sold today through Friday, April 21 during lunch and after school. Each ticket is $35. All tickets must be paid in full; no partial payments allowed. Absolutely no tickets can be sold for guests of Edison High School without a completed dance form. Dance forms can be found in the office. No tickets will be sold after this Friday, April 21.

 

Do you have a favorite teacher who’s made an impact on your life?  Each year the Milan Rotary Club of Milan honors 3 outstanding teachers with the Golden Apple Award.  Your choice of teacher maybe from the elementary, middle or high school.  Stop by the library or ask your English teacher for an application.  Forms must be returned no later than Monday April 24th!

 

Students - remember to order your 2017 yearbook.  The price is $58.  You can order books from Mrs. Dow in Room 101 or order online at www.jostensyearbooks.com  The deadline to order is May 19, 2017.  Check out the signs and cover display posted near the library.

 

Are you looking for summer work close to home with the possibility of bonuses at the end of the summer? Schlessman Seed Company in Milan is looking for high school students with great work ethics to work for them this summer.  A representative from Schlessman Seed will be here on Wednesday, April 26 to meet with interested students in the Conference Room - Room 408 at 7:45 am to answer any questions and provide basic information about what the summer job will entail.

 

Attention Math Club members: Please pay the $5.00 dues no later than today, so that we may order the Math Club T-shirts. Also, please sign up in Mrs. Wally's room if you are interested in visiting NASA.

 

Drama Club members, please pay attention for several important announcements: This Saturday we will participate in an Earth Day service project at the Salvation Army Community Garden. A sign-up sheet and information is posted on the call board.  No experience is necessary, just a desire to help.  We need a good turnout to help us earn Gold Honor Troupe Recognition for the year.

 

Information is now available for any Thespian interested in serving as an officer next year.  Applications must be turned in by the end of the week.

 

Senior Thespians, a list of Senior Honors is posted on the call board. Please check and make any necessary corrections.

 

Sports Force Parks in Sandusky is looking for volunteers to help with a T-ball league for individuals with disabilities.  Mrs. Brown has additional information regarding the dates and times of the league if you are interested in volunteering, or you may pick up a flier in the library.

 

The Sandusky library is hosting a free "Getting Your Child Ready for College" seminar on April 26th at 6:00pm.  Visit their website for more information on this presentation.

 

Attention Big Brother and Big Sister Volunteers:  any student wishing to attend the appreciation breakfast on Friday, May 12th must complete a field trip form. Field trip forms are in the office. Completed forms must be returned by Wednesday, May 3rd.

The Edison Writing Center is once again open during all lunch periods today.  If you need help with a writing assignment, bring your lunch and your essay to Room 201 today.

 

There will be a brief French Honor Society meeting in Madame's room Thursday morning at 7:30.  This is a MANDATORY meeting!!!!
