Happy Birthday today to Johanna Cherven!

 

At 4:45 today, JV Baseball & JV Softball will be at home with Perkins, the varsity baseball and varsity softball will be at Perkins for their game at 4:45.

 

The boys track team was crowned champions at the Edison Invitational track meet on Saturday for the 2nd year in a row. 1st place finishers for the Chargers were:  The 4x800 relay team of Ty Coon, Daniel Lambert, Brandon Romell and Gavin Schaeffer.  Bryce Ostheimer in the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.  The 4x100 relay team of Joe Eskra, Dawson Timbs, Brady Patterson, and Alex Neuberger, Ty Coon in the 3200. 2nd place finishers were:  Ian Janssen in the long jump, Joe Eskra in the pole vault, the 4x200 relay team, Gavin Schaeffer in the 800 and the 4x400 relay team.  Congratulations guys and good luck this week!

 

At the Edison Invite this past weekend, the girls finished 4th overall.  Nice job ladies.  The girls will run tomorrow at Bellevue with Sandusky. 

 

The JV Lady Chargers faced Port Clinton last week with a final score of 24 to 20 Edison. Smith and Johnson lead the offense. Smith with four hits and four runs, Johnson drove in 5 runs. Leading the offense were Linden and Pruitt​ ​behind the plate.

This past Saturday, the JV Ladies had a double header versus Gibsonburg. Final scores of 12 to 4 and 11 to 6 Gibsonburg. Smith, Johnson, and Sayler drove in runs in the first game. Krul drove in three runs the second game and led the team with three hits. Fidler and Krul greatly assisted the defense. Fidler with three plays to end the 3rd inning and Krul turned a double play to end the 5th inning.​

 

The JV Lady Chargers battled the Clyde Fliers on 4/10. Leading the defense was Kaylee Ries pitching and Elizabeth Pruitt behind the plate. Ries and Helena Krul lead the offense with four runs each. Pruitt and Sam Smith both had three hits. The ladies were able to battle back in the 4th, but in the end were surpassed by the Lady Fliers.

 

On 4/11 the JV ladies played Vermilion with a final score of 4 to 1 Vermilion. The ladies were led by Reese Linden's pitching and Elizabeth Pruitt working behind the plate. Helina Krul and Alana Fidler both turned double plays. Sam Smith had three hits and led the offense in runs scored.

 

Attention all seniors: pictures are due!  Group pictures, senior and baby pictures should be turned into Mr. Neher by April 28th!

 

Attn. Student Council Members:  tomorrow - Tuesday, April 18 the yearbook photo will be taken for student council.  Be in the auditorium immediately after announcements.  The photo will take one to two minutes.

 

Do you have an interest in being a fireman?  Tonight, the Berlin Township Fire Department is offering a hands on Explorer program open to all men and women, ages 14 to 17! Make plans to attend the open house at 7 pm at Berlin Station #1 tonight!

 

Tickets for Prom 2017, A Whole New World, will be sold from beginning today through Friday, April 21 during lunch and after school. Each ticket is $35. All tickets must be paid in full; no partial payments allowed. Absolutely no tickets can be sold for guests of Edison High School without a completed dance form. Dance forms can be found in the office. No tickets will be sold after this Friday, April 21.

 

Do you have a favorite teacher who’s made an impact on your life?  Each year the Milan Rotary Club of Milan honors 3 outstanding teachers with the Golden Apple Award.  Your choice of teacher maybe from the elementary, middle or high school.  Stop by the library or ask your English teacher for an application.  Forms must be returned no later than Monday April 24th!

 

Students - remember to order your 2017 yearbook.  The price is $58.  You can order books from Mrs. Dow in Room 101 or order online at www.jostensyearbooks.com  The deadline to order is May 19, 2017.  Check out the signs and cover display posted near the library.

 

Are you looking for summer work close to home with the possibility of bonuses at the end of the summer? Schlessman Seed Company in Milan is looking for high school students with great work ethics to work for them this summer.  A representative from Schlessman Seed will be here on Wednesday, April 26 to meet with interested students in the Conference Room - Room 408 at 7:45 am to answer any questions and provide basic information about what the summer job will entail.

 

Attention Math Club members: Please pay the $5.00 dues by Wednesday so that we may order the Math Club T-shirts.

 

Also, please sign up in Mrs. Wally's room if you are interested in visiting NASA.

 

Drama Club members, please pay attention for several important announcements: This Saturday we will participate in an Earth Day service project at the Salvation Army Community Garden. A sign-up sheet and information is posted on the call board.  No experience is necessary, just a desire to help.  We need a good turnout to help us earn Gold Honor Troupe Recognition for the year.

 

Information is now available for any Thespian interested in serving as an officer next year.  Applications must be turned in by the end of the week.

 

Senior Thespians, a list of Senior Honors is posted on the call board. Please check and make any necessary corrections.

 

Allison Pennell, Vernon Kluding, Meredith Holler, Aurora Bragdon and Clayton Betts, please report to the office.

 

Sports Force Parks in Sandusky is looking for volunteers to help with a T-ball league for individuals with disabilities.  Mrs. Brown has additional information regarding the dates and times of the league if you are interested in volunteering, or you may pick up a flier in the library.
